3 Easy Steps To Removing Blood Stains.

Blood Stains.
Our homes happen to be one of the safest places but still it doesn’t stop accidents from happening, I guess that’s why it is called a home accident. Little accidents like a scrapped knee, finger cut from sharp objects could lead to blood ruining our clothes or any other thing around and removing this stains from surfaces such as clothing, furniture, mattresses, or carpets could prove difficult and frustrating. Below are steps to follow to ensure blood stains don’t set and end up ruining your things.

1) Rinse the fabric through the back with cold water and avoid any attempt to use hot water as this will cause the blood stain to set further or simply wash the piece of clothing in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent.

2) If the blood happens to get to the floor or any other hard surface and is already clotted, try removing it by scrapping it off with a blunt knife or spoon.

3) You can also introduce vinegar, lemon and hydrogen peroxide;
o   Pour vinegar on the stained spot and let it soak for 5 – 10 mins, then blot with a piece of cloth or towel. Repeat process if necessary and wash.
o   If stain is dried up, scrap off the dried blood and apply lemon over the stained area, sprinkle some table salt over it and leave for about 10 mins then blot with a damp cloth.
o   Hydrogen peroxide also happens to be a good blood stain removing agent as it acts like a bleaching agent but you should also know that it could damage the color of some fabric so do ensure to test it on a small surface area first before use. Apply a small amount of stained area and blot with a tower.

Removing blood stains from materials can be tricky, if possible treat stain while it’s still wet. Don’t leave blood stains out to dry because the longer the blood stays, the harder it is to remove. And avoid using hot water too. What are your thoughts, do share in the comment section below???
