4 Things You Need To Know When Choosing A Design For Your Children’s Room

Kids love to play and hang around beautiful and lovely places like the park, children toy shops, shopping malls with kid playgrounds and all but do they only have to go out to this places to enjoy themselves? Why not bring home all the fun to them. Every child deserves to love where he/she sleeps, eats, reads and plays, all you need to introduce is some few interiors changes and you would be the best parents ever!!!
Here are some key things to note:

SAFETY

When choosing your children’s room, make sure it’s perfectly safe for your kid.

  • Provide as much space as possible because Kids are very much energetic and love a lot of space to roam free so your child’s room shouldn’t be cluttered with too much furniture.

  • Spaces occupied by interiors should minimal, all your kid needs are his/her sleeping area, a small desk with probably a desktop/laptop stationed nicely on it, a shelf which could be fixed into the wall above the bed area or above the reading area, wardrobe/dressing area and a lot of run around space. Any other thing if necessary should take less space.
  • Look out for sharp objects like popping nails on furniture, remove them and if not movable – cover them up.
  •  Use less of breakable materials and more of unbreakable materials.

SLEEPING AREA

This is where the question of how well you know your child comes in.

  • Design the bedroom to meet his/her personality as much as their age.
  • Use his/her favorite color to create a theme that will grow with them.
  • Your child should be able to get in and out of bed without any hassle.
  •  Provide a bedside lamp, so your kid won’t have to wake up in the night and walk all the way to the wall switch to get the lights on also most kids love to sleep with the lights on.

·         If you are going for bunks bed, make sure the spaces between the lower and upper bed is enough for your child sleeping beneath to be able to sit up straight with having to arch his/her back, install a stair to the top bunk which makes it easy for your child to get to the top and also a railing on the top bunk to prevent your kid from rolling off the top.

ORGANIZED STORAGE

Every parent needs to know that the key to successful children’s bedroom design is clever storage.
·         Storage should be easily accessible and easy to use, that way your child can have a place to keep all their stuffs.

  •   Allow your kid to choose his/her preferred design and colors he/she wants on the storage furniture which also helps you understand the color he/she likes.

  •  If your children’s room is spacious enough then keep storage to the outer edges of the room so your child has enough space to play. This allows for imaginative learning.

LIGHTENING

Kids love bright and lively not dull and boring. Lights are used to give the room a warm feeling.

  • Limit the use of too much bright colors and materials.

  • I would say, never keep the bed by the window instead keep the bed on the opposite side wall from the window to prevent too much lightening from the sun onto your child’s face.
  • The bed space should feel more cozy and private and not exposed to a lot of lightning.
